Dorset Carers Partnership Group (DCPG)
The Dorset Carers Partnership Group (DCPG) was created during the COVID-19 Pandemic and is a network of professionals who work with carers across Dorset, including BCP and Dorset Council areas.
What the group does:
- Network with other professionals
- Raise awareness of support for carers
- Discuss carer - related issues and challenges
- Share feedback
- Collaborate on projects that benefit carers
The DCPG supports the Pan Dorset Carers Steering Group by sharing feedback and implementing actions. Additional discussions are held through Think Tanks and Task and Finish groups to focus on specific areas for improvement. This approach helps reduce support gaps and promotes partnership working across Dorset.
Some projects and achievements include:
- The Practical Skills and Learning Opportunities Booklet for Carers
- Our Carers Week and Carers Rights Day event programmes and media packs
- Our Dorset Collaboration best practice submissions for the ADASS Supporting Carers Hub
Organisations and professionals who support or have contact with carers can join the DCPG to help create carer-friendly communities. For more information, please get in touch.
